Oil level indicators with magnetic joint are usually used on transformers' conservators.
Their function is to give a visual alarm of the oil level contained in the conservator. Furthermore they are provide with microswitches to signal the alarm in case the oil level reaches its minimum and/or maximum.

TYPES
Oil level indicators are made in three sizes: 140, 220 and 340 mm with radial or axial float rod. Axial type is especially used for applications in which the conservator contains a nitrogen membrane.
Other three types are available for distribution transformers: L80 and L100 types with magnetic joint which have exclusively a visual indication as they are not provided with contacts. L60 type has been specifically designed and realised to be placed on the transformers’ cover without conservator, named hermetic. It also has only a visual alarm.
